Happy Easter!

This Easter was so much fun now that Trent is getting older! That morning Trent got to open his Easter basket. He was a little confused at first on what was going on but had no problem playing with his new toys. Later that afternoon, my mom and Kelly came over and we headed to my sister in law's parent's house. All the kids got to do an Easter egg hunt and had a blast!! At first Trent didn't understand what he was supposed to do but by the 2nd or 3rd egg he did! By the end of the hunt his basket was so full eggs were falling out. It was pretty funny though because if an egg fell out we pointed it out to him and he thought it was just an egg his missed and he would run back and stick it in his basket.

To the right is a picture of Logan helping Trent with his eggs.

Here is our little guy figuring out that there is something in those eggs!

Daddy trying to help Trent "find" an egg that fell out of his basket.

After our day of egg hunting and good food, we headed home and Trent had fun in his bubble bath!!
I also want to thank all of his grandparents for such great gifts!! Grandma Becky and Kelly brought him a basket full of clothes, toys and 101 Dalmations movie, Grandpa Bob and GG sent him some cute little outfits, a stuffed bunny and some candy and Sugar and Pop Seale gave him an Elmo toy that he just loves!!
Hope everyone had a great Easter too!!

A blankie or two?!

So in the last few weeks, Trent has started to carrying not only one blanket around but two! It's really the strangest thing to me that at 17-18 months he would start this. It's only around the house but when he goes to bed at night or for a nap, he'll carrying them in his room and hand them to me one at a time so I can put them in his crib. Then when he wakes up, he stands up in his crib and hands them to us so that we can get them out with him. From there, he'll grab them both and head off! The other day, one of the blankies was sitting on the table while he was eating and he kept whining and grabbing and wouldn't eat until I gave it to him. We have his 18 month check up tomorrow so I'll be sure to talk to the doctor about it as I know my sisters and I all did the same thing and boy was it hard to take those blankies from us :-)

Also, I would like to thank Grandpa Bob and GG for sending Trent a sweet little package of two cute little outfits, some snacks and a green bunny! Trent has been giving his little bunny some hugs here and there and just loved his scooby snacks!!

Snow Day

If you don't live in Texas I'm not sure if you were aware how it was in about the 70s on Sunday and snowed Monday night. This state has the strangest weather! So Tuesday morning it was just beautiful out! Snow in the grass, trees and in the street, it was every where. Trent goes to our neighbor's house during the days while we are at school and work. Yesterday, when David was taking Trent over there he said that the little guy was very alarmed. He said it took him a minute to even walk in the snow! Very cute, his first picture seeing snow.

Weekend Fun

Trent made a visit to Grandma's house last night. David had the day off (which is not a normal occasion on the weekends) so we took full advantage. It was really nice hanging out with a bunch our friends and being kid free for an evening. It's so nice having help watching him so we can get a break here and there :-) While at grandma's house, Trent got to play at the park and had a great breakfast made by Kelly. Here are some pictures of our little guy playing at the park and enjoying the slide.

Boxes and Toys

So the other day I got some girl scout cookies and work and since I had a few boxes I had a box to carry them in. Trent was very interested in the box so I gave it to him to play with. He mostly put toys in there and carried it around. The other night I noticed he was just sitting in his box! Of course, both legs aren't in there because it was way too small but he was still enjoying himself. It's amazing how many toys he has yet a box is just as much fun to him!

SUPRISE!

Ok ok...I know I have been the worst blogger ever!! After I got so behind and I just never knew where to start so here we go. Here are some new pictures of Trent. He's just getting way too big! He's saying words and you can tell he acutally understands what we say most of the time. Some words we have heard are: bath, ni ni (night night), dog, diaper, cracker, juice, please, thank you and then some more. He also says stuff that we just don't understand at all :-) I'll also be the first to admit, I'm not the best at understanding baby talk so some people have to let me know when they hear stuff too. Trent still falls asleep while eating, still really enjoys bath time and is still a pretty sweet but crazy little guy. To all that I have let down with no blogs, I promise to be better and get more pictures and stories up here!

Our trip to North Carloina

This weekend Trent and I went to go visit my sister, Adrianne, her husband Nigel and precious little Braden in North Carolina. The flight out there was pretty rough for Trent and me. You have to take 2 flights to get there. The first one was fine, Trent slept and played and was overall pretty good. Then our second flight was delayed over 2 hours so that was very hard keeping a one year old entertained in an airport for that time period. Then once we got there we had to wait another 45 minutes to an hour to get our bags because they put them on another plane. It really upset me the most because it took over 3 hours away from time to spend with my family. Once we were there we grabbed some dinner, went home and hung out. The next morning we had breakfast at Adrianne and Nigel's resorts restaurant and it was so good!! The best bacon I've ever had!! From there, Nigel took the boys while Adrianne and I did some shopping. Afterwards, we took some naps and relaxed until dinner time. We went to dinner and then to the beach. Trent was really in awe by the waves and the ocean. We hung out there for a little bit and then headed home. On Saturday, Adrianne took us to Wilmington which was so beautiful! We wandered around there and checked out the mall. I took Trent on a carousel for the first time. He loved just sitting on the horse but once it started moving, it scared him and he was ready to get off. Later that night we went out to dinner at a great restaurant called the Boundry House but ended up having to take it home because the boys just weren't willing to sit through dinner anymore. On our way back we stopped by the Creamery and got some ice cream and pictures with the cows out front. Trent and I flew home yesterday and it was really sad that our trip went by way too quick!!! Trent wasn't sure what to think of Braden because he's so use to being around older kids but Braden was just so amused by him. He is just such a happy and sweet baby! His smile can melt your heart! It was so nice seeing them all and having a chance to hang out with Adrianne & Nigel and play with Braden now that he's bigger. I can't wait for Christmas to see them all again and am counting the days down!

Hanging out...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted any pics! I went to download some pictures the other day and the cord for the computer and camera disappeared. I'm not going to point fingers or name any names but I have a feeling of who may have hid it....Anyways, last week the city of Little Elm had a big fair from Thursday to Sunday. On Saturday they had a pretty baby contest where you could possibly win a savings bond so my mom and I took Trent up there. It was really causal and we had Trent in his cowboy's gear. Unfortunately, he didn't win but it was an interesting experience. I'm not sure how on earth some of those parents were able to keep their 1 year olds calm and settled while waiting to go up to the judges because my little guy does not want to be just held for long anymore!! It was a lot of fun to see all the other kids in their adorable little outfits and to watch him interact with the other little ones.
So another picture I wanted to post was Trent with his spoon, yes his spoon. A week or so ago I was cooking and to keep him preoccupied in the kitchen I gave him a plastic spoon and opened up the cabinet with the tubberware for him to play in. From that moment on he has loved that spoon!! He carries it with him and if that is not around he also loves carry his hairbrush or mine. In the mornings when I get ready for work and hears me blow drying my hair, he comes in, grabs my brush and walks out! It's really quite entertaining to us yet sometimes stressful when I'm running late and really need my brush back! Next week Trent and I are making a trip to North Carolina vist Adrianne, Nigel and Braden and I cannot wait!! I've missed them so much and am so excited to see my sweet little nephew.

One Year Old

Tuesday, September 11th marked Trent's 1st Birthday! David and I were fortunate to have the whole day off so we could all hang out. In the morning I made breakfast for us all. I made Trent's favorite, blueberry pancakes and then bacon and scrabbled eggs. Now that he has hit the 1 year mark, some foods are allowed like eggs, so I wanted to see what he would think of them and he loved them!! After his nap, we had an appointment to get some family pictures done which turned out great! We hung around the mall and got some lunch and afterwards ended up heading home since Trent was ready for his next nap. That night we made a steak dinner with Trent's favorite veggie, green beans. He ate his dinner and then we had gotten him a mini cake to eat.I think he liked that one way more then the one I had made him because he was licking his fingers for the icing after eating it. Overall, we had a really nice day being able to hang out together and celebrate his birthday.

Yesterday, we had his 12 month appointment with the doctor and she said he's doing great. His weight is in the 90th percentile, height is in the 100th percentile and his head is in the 60th percentile.
