So since school has started, Trent's daycare lady, Ms Brandie, has just the little ones (Trent, twins the same age as him and her 3 year old). Since it's just the four of them and they are all so close in age, she's been able to do school time with him which has been great! He comes home with his sheets of what he has done during the day, they have circle time, book time, craft time and focus on learning new things. Just last week they have had fun with coloring, playing with shaving cream and finger painting! They focused on learning the letter A, the number 1 and the color red. She is also working on name recognition. She has explained it may take a little while until he puts all these items together but one day all these things they are working on will just click for him in the next 6 months or so. He gets so proud of his of pictures and shows them to me when I come to get him. This one picture just cracks me up because it really shows Trent's personality. The other two boys his age are painting gentling and slowly and he's just going crazy with his finger paints.
Thanks for stopping by our family's blog! We wanted to have a spot for our family and friends to be able to keep updated on our lives and be able to watch and enjoy our little guys growing up right before our eyes!

Last Weekend
Last Saturday we had a family get together at my aunt Jayne's house. It was so nice seeing all of the family, hanging out, eating, watching the kids play and watching some very old video's from a very long time ago! (Adrianne and Ashlie, I wish you two could have been there too to see how funny we were but I have to say, we sure looked like we were having fun!!) I can't tell you how much fun Trent had there too! My cousin's little boy was there and he's about 9 months older than Trent
and after a little warming up to each other, they were best buds. Running around, laughing and giggling. They played with cars together, had a wagon ride, watched some cartoons and just had a blast. I really have not heard Trent laugh that hard in a long time. I was very lucky too since my cousin has started into photography so she got some very adorable pictures! Up top is our Mr. Serious not wanting to smile from her and below is a sweet little hug between the boys. Part of the family getting together was to annouce that my Uncle Gerald will be going over seas again real soon. I will pray that he will stay safe and we can't wait to see him back real soon!!! Hi Adrianne!!
I know it's been awhile since I've blogged so I apologize and I would like to let Adrianne know this is for her :-) (She's a bit scary right now so I don't want to upset her. Her baby will be here tomorrow though and we can't wait!!!!!) Our little family has been B U S Y!! David has been working so much (almost everyday!) now that he's done with school and has been submitting his resume to companies but unfortunately, he hasn't received any calls for interviews yet. I've been pretty busy at work and taking care of our little guy. Trent's been having a great time over at Ms Brandie's house. Our friends with the twins have started using her as well so he has some little buddies over there. It's adorable when I drop him off, they
come running to the door saying "TRENT!!!" and then they all just start playing away. It's been very hard to get some pictures of Trent lately because he feels he should be taking the pictures, not photographed. I pull out the camera and most of the time he'll grab at it and when I don't let him have it, to the floor he goes for his little fit. I was able to the get one above and some in the bath playing with his bath foam that he loves! So check in tomorrow and I should have some pictures of my new niece posted!!! YAY!!!Saturday, July 05, 2008
Happy 4th of July
We have a very busy and fun filled July 4th!! In the morning, Trent and I went to Pump it Up in Frisco with some friends. It's a place with b
ounce houses and bounce slides that normally does just birthday parties but on Monday and Friday's they have a pop in and play for an hour and a half so we decided to check it out. At first, Trent wasn't too sure about it there bu
t by the end, he was having so much fun. There was one bounce house with a big circle thing in the middle and I would put him on top and he loved sliding down. Then there was a h
uge slide that he finally got the hang up walking up and sliding down. He would slide down backwards and then once he got to the bottom he would stand up and just be laughing. It was so much fun to watch. After we left, of course he was pooped and ready for his nap. We headed home and he took a good 2 1/2 hour n
ap! During this time, I took advantage of two sleeping guys and headed to the pool to get some sun :-) After nap time for everyone we hung out at the house for a bit and then headed to my sister in law's parent's house. They live by the lake outside of the co
unty, so we are able to shoot fireworks there. When we got there, Trent and his cousin Gavin played in the pool for awhile. They had a blast splashing around in there! Then we all ate some dinner and I discovered Trent LOVES watermelon!!! He had about 4 or 5 pieces all together yesterday! Trent also had so much fun playing with his friends, Carson and Loga
n. All four little ones were just running around, eating watermelon and having so much fun together. It's really nice having friends with kids so close in age. After all the eating and playing, it got dark so the guys went down to start the fireworks. Like last year, Trent is not a fan of this at all! He would be walking around, then a firework would go off, he would come running to me saying "mommy, mommy", jump in my lap and hide his hea
d in my shoulder. I can't even begin to count how many times he did this. At one point, he started covering his eyes which was kind of cute but I felt pretty bad for him. By the end of our home firework show, Trent was doing a lot better but still a bit on edge from the fire
works. He was very excited to see daddy after the show was over! Overall, our day was really fun yet very exhausting! We all got to sleep in this morning which was extremely nice. I hope everyone else had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

Fun at the beach

Ok, I know I probably should not be admitting this but am really fine with everyone knowing how unobservant I can be sometimes. So, I may have had my camera for quite awhile now and the other day I was playing around with it and realized that I can take pictu
res in so many different ways!! It has sepia, black and white and a ton of other options of taking pictures. Last night, my sister in law, brother in law, their kids and Trent and I went to the little beach area by the lake. I decided to play around and take some pictures and I think som
e of them turned out really cute. Here are some of Trent and Gavin (Trent's cousin). The boys had so much fun playing in the sand and water and just exploring.

Home sweet home

Last week David and I finally had a vacation just the two of us. It has been over 4 years since we have had an alone trip. We went to Playa del Carmen in Mexico for 5 days and it was wonderful! Towards the end we really started getting home sick and missing our little guy. I added one of my favorite pictures from the trip when we got to play with some cute little monkeys. We got back home late Saturday night and woke Trent up for about 30 minutes just so we could see him for a little bit. He was really confused and sleepy but we got some smiles and hugs and then
knew he was ready to go back to bed when he grabbed his blankies and walked back into his room. The next morning he would not stop laughing and smiling and kept asking us over and over "Where'd you go?" No answer we gave him was good enough so he just kept asking and then finally started laughing and hugging again. Unfortunately, the next day, Trent came down with a fever and all he wanted was his mommy so we cuddled and took a little nap together on the couch (which he rarely does! He's a very independent sleeper) The following day he's fever went away but he's still been a little cranky and tired looking. I honestly am not sure if he's just b
een so thrown out of his routine he just wasn't sleeping well or if he got a little bug. Hopefully he'll be back his normal little sweet self soon. I wanted to add another picture because I'm sure like most kids his age, he just loves our sunglasses! In the car he'll say "Ma ma, ma ma, peeaassse" while pointing at my glasses. Of course, I had to get some pictures out of it :-)

Baseball Game
Every spring my company does a picnic of some sort and like they did last year, they provided us tickets to the Rough Riders game in Frisco. It's a lot of fun as everyone from my office has the option to go and we get to all sit by each other, meet everyone's family and just get to hang out in a causal atmosphere. They draw names and giv
e away prizes (ipods!!) and toys to the kids.Trent had a blast walking around, visiting with everyone and playing with the toys they gave away.He also had crackerjacks for the first time and boy did he love those. He's such a busy little guy that hopefully next year he'll realize that there is actua
lly a game going on. Unfortunately David had to work but maybe by next year he'll be able to go with us :-)

Outside Fun
So the month of May has been extremely busy for us! We've had our anniversary, David's graduation and David's birthday. Last weekend we took a trip to the river to do some camping with some friends of ours to celebrate David and his brother Steve's birthday. It was so much fun but I sure was ready to come home and take a long hot shower!!What is so nice about Trent's age right now is that he's slowly getting to do more
things! He's mastered climbing and sliding down his slide and just the other day, mastered sliding on his bottom rather than his belly. It seems like he says a new word everyday and just a few days ago started this really funny goofy laugh. Yesterday I pulled out the sprinkler and he just LOVED it! After playing in
the sprinkler he enjoyed his slide for awhile. Another new love of his is toy cars. He is completely entertained by the cars you can pull back and let them go. Sometimes he'll even do the "vroom...vroom".

David's Graduation

Wow! Has it been a very busy month for us. May 1st was our 4 year anniversary and we had an absolutely wonderful evening out just the two of us. Then yesterday, David graduated from UNT! I can't believe this day is finally here and there are not words to express how incredibly proud I am of him. He's been a dedic
