Busy busy

So these last couple of weeks have been really busy!! David's little brother, Mark came home from Virginia for a little over a week and brought his sweet little girl, Jayanna with him. She just turned 1 in September and was really just too adorable. I got to babysit her one night and had so much fun. Trent was unsure of her at first but did really good being gentle when he played with her, helped me get her to bed, gave her hugs and when he woke up, ran straight into the guest room kept saying "Baby..baby...wake up!" He was ready to play :-) They were just adorable running around together, laughing and giggling. I really miss my two nieces (Jayanna & Teagan) and my little nephew (Braden) that I don't get to see very often! It was just wonderful to get that time with her! Now I'm just counting down till I see Braden and Teagan at Christmas!

Trent has been keeping us very busy too. We have a box of crafts for him, crayons, coloring books, play dough, glitter glue, etc and apparently we under estimated he's capability of opening this container so we have kept it in his play room. One day when I came home I had noticed some crayons and a color book on the fire place and just thought David had gotten it out for him. The next night he was in his play room and I went to check on him and had found his whole box of crayons all chewed and broken all over the floor!! I guess before breaking them he decided to color the bricks on the fireplace too. I later said something to David about leaving it out and he thought I had gotten them out for him. At that point, we figured out he had done this all on his own. Lesson learned.

Also, the last couple of days, I have asked David to walk with me in an attempt to not gain as much weight this second time around (fingers crossed!) Trent is at a stage where he would rather walk with us than ride in the stroller and so we get the dog and head out. Trent LOVES walking the dog but the dog just makes him fly right to the ground! He doesn't even care about the fall, he cares that the dog got away and starts yelling "Boo boo...boo boo come back" and starts chasing him. So David has to walk in the middle of the two of them and hold the leash and then he lets Trent hold the end part. I really get a big kick out of this and tried to get a good picture but it's very hard to catch!! They are just all over the place, Trent's laughing and having fun, the dogs a little freaked out and David gets all wrapped up in the leash.

Last but not least, Trent is quite my little helper! We made some banana bread for him to take to his daycare tomorrow and he really enjoyed this. He is such a helper and loved the stirring, pouring and of course tasting at the end. He's very interested in learning what we are doing and what things are so he would constantly ask me but when he knew things like the eggs would say "Eggs ma ma!" very excited and proud.

Sorry for the very long blog but like I said, we've been busy and wanted to get everyone caught up :-)

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday afternoon, Trent and I met up with my friend Marguerite and her little boy, Austin, and her sister and her little girl at the pumpkin patch on Bill Bate's ranch. I had taken Trent there his first Halloween when he was a little baby and this time he was able to run and play and enjoy himself there. We got to feed some animals (he's becoming a pro at this!) and he went on his very first hayride. I think his favorite part was when him and Austin ran around the pumpkin patch filling their wagon full of pumpkins!!

I have been very impressed with Trent lately and his words. It's like they are all finally starting to fall together. He tries very hard to say words and know what things are. For example, he keeps calling pumpkins either balls or apples but when I tell him pumpkin, he repeats the word pretty well. He's also starting to put his words more into sentences like "Wanna help you", when he wants to help me out and of course a classic "What doin?"

I also wanted to post a picture of myself at 21 weeks. I keep hearing from people at work how I'm not looking pregnant but I sure feel like I am. This baby is very active and moves a lot. You can really feel him more and more on the outside so I called Trent over the other night to feel him move. I guess he thought I was pretending because he would put his hand on my stomach and then he would jump around like he kicked him hard (and he didn't even move where Trent was feeling). He even put his cheek on my tummy and did the same thing, if anything, it was very entertaining!

State Fair

Yesterday David, Trent, Kelly (my mom's husband) and me had a fun filled day at the state fair. It was so nice going during the middle of the week because it wasn't too crowded. The weather was perfect and we had such a great time there. We ate so much food full of sugar or that was fried, it's not even funny! Trent had his first bite of cotton candy and he wasn't a big fan. I think it dissolving in his mouth kind of throw him off guard. He really enjoyed seeing all of the animals and the petting area. When we first got to the petting zoo, you can buy small cups of food, so we did and I showed him how to feed the animals. I had stuck the cup out and let a goat eat from it. After he saw me feed the goat I handed him the cup to feed more animals. Well I guess he was feeling pretty generous, because he let a goat eat from the cup for about a second and then decided to pour the food out on the ground for him to eat. After getting another cup, we made sure to help him with feedings after that! It was funny too, because that one goat seemed to be falling him. As we walked around, Trent got to see Big Tex talk, we saw part of the bird show and he watched kids on some of the rides. He was tall enough to ride the kiddy rides but we didn't feel like he was ready to try a ride by himself quite yet (maybe next year). Also, a very entertaining part of the day was when we stopped for funnel cakes and lemonade. We were all eating parts of the funnel cake and were almost finished. There was a pretty good sized piece left and Trent realized this may be the last bite so he grabbed it and stuffed the whole piece in his mouth!!! It was very funny watching him chew this huge piece of funnel cake! After walking around for most of the day he did finally pass out for about 30-45 mins but we ended up leaving shortly after he woke up. We were all pretty tired and full!! I'm looking forward to going again next year when he's a little bit older. I can't tell everyone how great it is to finally be at a point to do things like this with him.

BABY #2

IT'S A BOY!!!

I'll get pictures posted as soon as I can get them scanned but so far so good! He weighs 13 ounces and is already measuring 6 days bigger than due date. I wish I had a camera to take a picture of the relieved look on David's face. It was priceless :-)
