This weekend Trent and I went to go visit my sister, Adrianne, her husband Nigel and precious little Braden in North Carolina. The flight out there was pretty rough for Trent and me. You have to take 2 flights to get there. The first one was fine, Trent slept and played and was overall pretty good. Then our second flight was delayed over 2 hours so that was very hard keeping a one year old entertained in an airport for that time period. Then once we got there we had to wait another 45 minutes to an hour to get our bags because they put them on another plane. It really upset me the most because it took over 3 hours away from time to spend with my family. Once we were there we grabbed some dinner, went h
ome and hung out. The next morning we had breakfast at Adrianne and Nigel's resorts restaurant and it was so good!! The best bacon I've ever had!! From there, Nigel took the boys while Adrianne and I did some shopping. Afterwards, we took some naps and relaxed until dinner time. We went to dinner and then to the beach. Trent was really in awe by the waves and the ocean. We hung out there for a little bit and then headed home. On Saturday, Adrianne took us to Wilmington which was so beautiful! We wandered around there and checked out the mall. I took Trent on a carousel for the first time. He loved just sitting on the horse but once it started moving, it scared him and h
e was ready to get off. Later that night we went out to dinner at a great restaurant called the Boundry House but ended up having to take it home because the boys just weren't willing to sit through dinner anymore. On our way back we stopped by the Creamery and got some ice cream and pictures with the cows out front. Trent and I flew home yesterday and it was really sad that our trip went by way too quick!!! Trent wasn't sure what to think of Braden because he's so use to being around older kid
s but Braden was just so amused by him. He is just such a happy and sweet baby! His smile can melt your heart! It was so nice seeing them all and having a chance to hang out with Adrianne & Nigel and play with Braden now that he's bigger. I can't wait for Christmas to see them all again and am counting the days down!
Thanks for stopping by our family's blog! We wanted to have a spot for our family and friends to be able to keep updated on our lives and be able to watch and enjoy our little guys growing up right before our eyes!

Hanging out...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted any pics! I went to download some pictures the other day and the cord for the computer and camera disappeared. I'm not going to point fingers or name any names but I have a feeling of who may have hid it....Anyways, last week the city of Little Elm had a big fair from Thursday to Sunday. On Saturday they had a pretty baby contest where you could possibly win a savings bond so my mom and I took Trent up there. It was really causal and we had Trent in his cowboy's gea
r. Unfortunately, he didn't win but it was an interesting experience. I'm not sure how on earth some of those parents were able to keep their 1 year olds calm and settled while waiting to go up to the judges because my little guy does not want to be just held for long anymore!! It was a lot of fun to see all the other kids in their adorable little outfits and to watch him interact with the other little ones.

So another picture I wanted to post was Trent with his spoon, yes his spoon. A week or so ago I was cooking and to keep him preoccupied in the kitchen I gave him a plastic spoon and opened up the cabinet with the tubberware for him to play in. From that moment on he has love
d that spoon!! He carries it with him and if that is not around he also loves carry his hairbrush or mine. In the mornings when I get ready for work and hears me blow drying my hair, he comes in, grabs my brush and walks out! It's really quite entertaining to us yet sometimes stressful when I'm running late and really need my brush back! Next week Trent and I are making a trip to North Carolina vist Adrianne, Nigel and Braden and I cannot wait!! I've missed them so much and am so excited to see my sweet little nephew.

One Year Old
Tuesday, September 11th marked Trent's 1st Birthday! David and I were fortunate to have the
whole day off so we could all hang out. In the morning I made breakfast for us all. I made Trent's favorite, blueberry pancakes and then bacon and scrabbled eggs. Now that he has hit the 1 year mark, some foods are allowed like eggs, s
o I wanted to see what he would think of them and he loved them!! After his nap, we had an appointment to get some family pictures done which turned out great! We hung around the mall and got some lunch and afterwards ended up heading home since Trent was ready for his next nap. That night we made a
steak dinner with Trent's favorite veggie, green beans. He ate his dinner and then we had gotten him a mini cake to eat.I think he liked that one way more then the one I had made him because he was licking his fingers for the icing after eating it. Overall, we had a really nice day being able to hang out together and celebrate his birthday.

Yesterday, we had his 12 month appointment with the doctor and she said he's doing great. His weight is in the 90th percentile, height is in the 100th percentile and his head is in the 60th percentile.

Trent's Birthday Party

We are upon the time for Trent's first birthday and boy are the emotions flowing!! I'm so happy, sad, excited, proud and overall kind of overwhelmed that this first year has flown by and now my baby isn't really a baby anymore. We had his party yesterday and it was went really well. T
he theme we picked was Curious George, since that was the first movie Trent actually sat with me on the couch and watched without moving for a good 45 mins and also loves his tv show in the mornings. My sister in law has an amazing talent for making cakes, so she assisted and walked
me through making Trent's and it turned out pretty good, especially for a first timer like myself. Trent really enjoyed eating it and wearing it as well. We had a ton of family show up, which was wonderful seeing everyone! I was very excited that my little sister was able to make it from school in Lubbock, as that was a
very long drive for her. During present opening Trent got very distracted and really didn't want to sit there for long. His cousin, Brodie, helped us out by grabbing presents and helping Trent open them. Today, Trent has really been enjoying everything he got and has been playing non stop. We are extremely grateful for all people that are in our lives and have helped us with this first year as it truly has had it's ups and downs.

First hair cut

This last Saturday we took Trent to get his first hair cut that was very much needed! Overall, he did really good and was just a little squirmy but didn't cry or get scared. The lady who does my hair and her assistant had so much fun with him! Th
e picture to the left is right before she cut it (look how long it was) and to the right is he final cut. He was such a good little guy he got a lollipop from which of course he loved!

Baseball Game

This last Saturday my work provided us a game to the minor league team in Frisco, The Rough Riders. It's always nice getting together with people from work in a causal environment and getting to meet everyone's families. David, unfortunately, had to work that night so it was just Trent and me at the game. Ever s
ince Trent has started walking, it's been really hard to get him to sit for a long period of time so we spent most of our time walking around and visiting with other people. Overall,we had a really good time and Trent was so busy he was exhausted by time we left that he slept really good that night! He's such a busy little guy!

A long weekend

Last Thursday my dad, stepmom and little sister drove through Dallas to visit us on their way to Lubbock. We had such a good time even though the visit was short. We had David's mom and stepdad along with Grandm
a Fleta, over for some dinner, which everyone was very surprised by David and I cooking that they had to get a picture :-) Dinner turned out great and we just relaxed for the rest of the evening. Early Friday afternoon, Brittany and I hung out at the pool for a little bit and since I rarely get to lay out, I burnt pretty bad. They left Friday afternoon and got Brittany all settled in her new little home at Texas Tech. It was re
ally nice having a few extra days off work and I had a great time hanging out with David & Trent! Now, our little guy is fully walking all over the place and is starting to try to say some words, or it sounds like some. I had to add this picture of Trent with his bouncy seat. Even though every time he sits
in it, it looks like it's going to fall apart, he absolutely loves this chair!! He pushes and pulls it around with him and the other day he was having a blast sitting backwards making it bounce! Silly little guy!!

Breakfast and Naps Part 2
Our poor little guy was sick last Thursday all the way until Saturday night with a horrible fever. Ever since then his schedule has been all out of wack so he's been very cranky and tired. The other day, while he was eating breakfast, he feel asleep again! I know people get tired after a good meal but this is just too funny!!

Lasagna...yummy!

Last night we had some lasagna for dinner so we stripped down Trent's high chair, put a plastic cover underneath him and let him go to town! He really enjoyed his dinner and actually didn't get as dirty as we thought he would. The after
pictures were pretty entertaining so I thought I would share them. After dinner he got a good bath that took some extra scrubbing :-)

Our weekend fun

This weekend Trent and I stayed very busy! On Saturday afternoon we made a trip to the pool with some of his little buddies. They had fun in floating around the kiddy pool since it was shallow enough for them to reach and some what walk around in. We also went into the big p
ool, which I think scared him a little bit because he clinged on to me so much I barely had to hold him!! Overall, he really enjoys the water, whether it's bath time, the pool or the lake. He absolutely loves splashing around. Then today one of my girlfriends and I went to check out this place in Frisco called Wiggles. It's a place for all aged kids and they have slides, play areas, bounce
areas and a section for babies 0-18 months old. In that area they had foam type blocks to stack and a mini slide and area to climb, some chairs and table but Trent was the most entertained chasing around the bouncy balls with the some of the other kids. He did continue to work on his walking and would take a good 3-4 steps around before falling.
