Yesterday Carter was 2 weeks old. We took him to the doctor for his check up and here are his stats:
Height 21 inches-50 percentile
Weight 9lbs 13 oz-75 percentile
Head 14-10 percentile
She said he looked great and was extremely alert for 2 weeks. After talking to her more about his sleep patterns she did state that he is showing signs of colic. He has been waking up around 1am and will stay up until 6 or 7am. He is no where close to as fussy as Trent was but just won't go back to sleep and will cry off and on. We go back in another 2 weeks for his month check up.
Also, my very talented cousin did some pictures last Sunday and posted a sneak peek on her website: http://meaganblock.com/blog/
They are just awesome and I can't wait to see the rest!!!
Thanks for stopping by our family's blog! We wanted to have a spot for our family and friends to be able to keep updated on our lives and be able to watch and enjoy our little guys growing up right before our eyes!

Trent's new car
Yesterday Grandpa Bob was in town for work so he stopped by to have dinner and bring Trent his new car. If anyone knows Ginger, they know she is awesome at finding great deals and she found this car and a gas station for a steal!! Right as Grandpa Bob put the car down, Trent jumped right in and knew exactly what to do. I think our biggest mistake was giving it to him before dinner because he did not want to get out of this car for anything. He even just sat in it while watching his cartoons. We also just loved his spot that he found for his blankie too! Aren't kids so creative?!

Big Helper
I have to say, I think that Trent's helper stage is one of the cutest, sweetest stages I have seen. Though there are times where it can become frustrating because he will follow me around and say over and over "Help Ma Ma?...Help Ma Ma?" and I won't be able to think of anything to have him help with but most of the time he has his little duties around the house. Ever since we have brought Carter home, we have been asking him to help as much as we can. We really want him to feel as involved as he can with his new little brother. He puts Carter's dirty clothes in his hamper, he "shakes" the bottles, brings him his red dog (his gift from Trent) and throws diapers away. Just the other day, when David was vacuuming the house, Trent was following him around "vacuuming" too. And today Trent helped me clean Carter's bottles. Whatever chore we are doing, he wants to do too! Too sweet!!!
Here are some pictures of our guys:

More hospital pictures
All of Carter's grandparents were able to see him either the same day or next day after he was born! It was nice for us to have so much family so close and there to help us out during those few days when we really needed their help and support. I can't thank everyone enough!! Here are some pictures from the hospital.
Grandma Becky
Grandpa Kelly
Grandpa Bob
(I didn't have one with Carter but had one with Trent)

Trent's 1st Joke
Tonight we went to a friends house for a little get together they were having for their son's birthday. We got home and got all settled in with baths and bottles. We were all in the living room and Trent was playing around before bed and he went up to David and told his very first joke:
Trent: "Knock knock"
David: "Who's there?"
Trent: "Tent (Trent)"
David: "Trent who?"
Trent: "Boo Boo"
We both busted out laughing and so did Trent. I don't know if he even realized he was telling a joke but it was one of the funniest ones I have ever heard even though it doesn't really make sense :-) After another minute of us laughing he said "Again?" and we heard this joke another 10 times or so.

Carter David is here!
Carter is finally here! We arrived to the hospital around 5am on Thursday February 12th to be induced. The labor moved along perfectly with the medications they gave me and our little guy arrived at 1:39pm. He weighs 9lbs 8oz and is 21 in long. After birth, he did wonderful but I unfortunately did not. The doctor had trouble stopping my bleeding, so I lost a lot of blood and was extremely sick afterwards. I later found out later that I was the lucky one yesterday because 2 other women had similar problems but they ended up having to have hysterectomies. They gave me some medications and after some rest and food I was finally feeling better. They kept us in labor and delivery until around 9pm last night. After getting moved and settled in post partum, David and I finally got some sleep last night and are doing great.

Baby Carter Update
I was officially 39 weeks yesterday and am shocked Carter hasn't made his appearance yet! Due to his size, I will be induced tomorrow and cannot wait to meet my new little guy. I'm just getting nervous about how big he'll really end up being. I feel like in just the last week my belly has really grown and by his movements, I can tell it's getting snug in there for him. We are bringing the laptop to the hospital so as soon as David can, we will have pictures posted of our newest addition.

Birthday Party
This past Sunday we took Trent to my friend's little boys 3rd birthday party. Trent is really starting to catch on to this birthday thing and when I told him about the party his first question was "Cake?" That is very important to him! The party was at Bomerangs in Plano which is full of different bounce slides and obstacles. He had a blast to say the least!! He even had fun driving the car video game and you know what is great about this age, they don't realize you didn't put coins in yet :-) I think my favorite part about taking Trent to birthday parties is watching him "sing" Happy Birthday with all the other kids. It's the cutest thing because he tries to get all the words and just looks around as he's singing.

Funny little guy
I apologize if most of you have heard these stories but I mostly want to document what Trent has been saying. It seems like almost everyday he cracks us up one way or another!
During one of his bathes he was playing around and David walks out for a minute. He walks back into the bathroom to find Trent throwing his poop out of the bath tub and then Trent starts crying and gets all upset. I come running in there and we pull Trent out and are a bit in shock by what's going on. Trent is still crying and points at the poop on the floor and yells "ROCK!! ROCK!!" we both just start laughing and tell him no, that's your poo poo and do our best to calm him down. After we got everything cleaned up it finally clicked to us that he really hasn't seen his own poop before and that could be very scary for a two year old to all of a sudden see "rocks" in his bath!
The other day Trent was walking by the coffee table and his little bubble butt was knocking over a plate. I laughed and told Trent "You have a big butt" He laughed and said "No ma ma big butt" We just laughed as we went back and forth and joked around. The other day I dropped Trent off to the sitter and she told me she was in the bathroom and Trent came in and just looked at her for awhile and then busted out with "ma ma got big butt" She said she could not stop laughing!! Guess you have to watch what you joke with them about?! :-)
As some of you know, we got some ice here in Dallas a few weeks ago. David was taking him next door to the sitter and some of the neighbor kids were playing outside. Trent was joining them in the winter fun when all of a sudden he bust out in tears and David brings him in. His poor little hands were red they were so cold so we got a blanket to warm them up and we were trying everything to try to calm him down. I finally asked him if he wanted some hot chocolate and he got a little yes in between his tears. So I went and made him so hot chocolate and we sat him at the table. He was still sniffling and drinking his hot chocolate. David walked by to check on him and he looked up and said "Daddy, I better now"
This age is just too much fun!! Something new everyday and it's just amazing watching him become more independent, develop a sense of humor and just develop as a little person.

Any Day Now!!
I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow and we are just waiting for the arrival of our newest member any day now! At 36 weeks my doctor did a sonogram and his estimated weight was already at 7lbs 8oz!! Since we are having another big boy she set an induction date of February 12th if he's not here yet. I've already started dilating so hopefully we won't have to wait for the induction date and he'll come on his own. We've been working really hard to finish up his room and just all around getting everything ready. It's been really hard since about 3 weeks ago I got a horrible stomach bug that put me in labor and delivery so they could monitor the baby and get me re hydrated. It took me a good 5-6 days just to get my energy back. We have his room pretty much together and the clothes hung up but there are few little things left to do like hanging up some decorations and his curtain but I just wanted to post some pictures of the work in progress. We are just so incredibly excited to meet little Carter!!
